Cancer as a
Legitimate System State.

A research monograph about cancer as a possible state of complex biological systems—paired with three transparent research applications for exploring systems hypotheses, public data, uncertainty and the limits of inference.

Have a research report or laboratory values? Start with what the evidence actually shows.

Open the guided intake to upload text, CSV, JSON or a text-based PDF (optional internet PDF parser), or enter values by hand. A local PIGA / A7SEM / A7SEM Reverse audit identifies missing provenance, methods, units, alternatives and the correct next research questions. It does not diagnose cancer or authorize treatment.

Research Gate 1: ALLOW, DELAY, BLOCK or UNKNOWN; explanatory gaps, A7SEM dimensions, reverse checks and a downloadable evidence passport. Clinical Gate 2 stays BLOCK.

The thesis and its boundaries

What can systems thinking explain—and where must inference stop?

The book uses legitimate in a narrow descriptive sense: a state can be possible under declared model assumptions. This never means that cancer is beneficial, ethically acceptable, inevitable or beyond treatment.

Its publicly archived specialist research edition develops this distinction across 50 disease-specific conceptual profiles, together with a framework for questioning assumptions, provenance, contradictory evidence and the temptation to extrapolate from elegant mathematics to actual patients.

What the reader gains: a disciplined way to distinguish system-model hypotheses from established biomedical facts, reconstruct the evidence behind a research claim, challenge alternative explanations and record what remains unproven. These are research-literacy tools, not diagnostic pathways.

The book on Amazon — and the research edition

One scientific question connects the book and its three free browser-based companions: when can a model justify an inference, and when must it defer to missing evidence or uncertainty?

Cancer as a Legitimate System State

A systems-theoretical exploration of malignant states, emergence, stabilization and therapy resistance, with PIGA, A7SEM and A7SEM Reverse as research lenses. A research contribution, not a clinical treatment manual.

Three research applications. One governance architecture.

The two systems simulators and the expanded evidence workbench are accessible without registration. Each offers a self-contained HTML download for offline research use; live public catalogue requests require an Internet connection.

Application 01 · Reader atlas

Research use only · Clinical Gate 2: BLOCK.

Technical browser checks and public catalogue connectivity are not clinical validation. The evidence workbench provides study-planning tools, not real patient predictions, laboratory findings, therapy choices or regulatory authorization.

Privacy by design: all three applications are standalone HTML/JavaScript programs without a patient-data backend. Do not enter real personal or patient data. The websites' hosting providers can still maintain normal access logs.

The reading-to-research pathway

A three-step approach to evidence-governed exploration

01Read and specify the claim

Begin with the research book, define the exact scientific claim and distinguish evidence from an unverified hypothesis.

02Experiment with a fictional model

Explore fictional systems models or public aggregate research metadata, inspect uncertainty and compare the evidence required.

03Reverse-audit the inference

Check provenance and counterevidence; export a local research passport. Gate 2 remains BLOCK.

PIGA separates admission of a research inference (Gate 1) from authorization of a real-world action (Gate 2). A7SEM treats seven dimensions as interacting, not a mandatory clinical sequence. A7SEM Reverse checks claims backwards against their evidence and possible counterexamples. A finite QA loop means repeatable, bounded checks—not unsupervised endless computation.

Scientific and publication boundaries

Research and education only — clinical Gate 2: BLOCK. These applications do not diagnose cancer, predict tumor behaviour, rank treatment choices, produce personal risk scores or issue medical recommendations. They are not validated medical devices or substitutes for qualified medical care. No independent clinical benefit, predictive superiority or regulatory approval is asserted.
